Bye, Bye Verizon!

Well, mostly…

I’m ditching my land line with Verizon in favor of Vonage VoIP. The monthly cost will be less than half of what I’m paying now. And, since I have this wonderful fiber connection with all this bandwidth, I might as well get some use out of it. So – I’m keeping Verizon for my fiber connection – which is really worth the cost especially now that I will be able to save some money on my phone service!

  1. hey, if you haven’t signed up yet, I could use the referral…

good to use Vonage while we can. The LECs don’t really like them on their networks, even though we’ve paid fair and square for the bandwidth. Verizon hasn’t been as vocal about it as SBC, though.

One of the reasons I’m on a cable provider. But it’s definitely the evil of two lessers.

  2. Well, I’m hoping that Verizon doesn’t take out retribution on me for going VoIP. At least my business line and my phone lines are on separate accounts in separate departments. I even tried to get Verizon to run my phone lines over the fiber and they wouldn’t do it because the phones were residential and the fiber was commercial… the two departments don’t talk.

And, no, sorry – I signed up two days ago. I didn’t even ask anyone. I just got sick of paying $100 for two phone lines.
